The charity aspect of MedSoc allows us as pre-clinical students to try to do something for the wider community.  This is through a number of channels - be it through charity runs (this year the MedSoc team did the Town and Gown 10k for muscular dystrophy), bake sales, or interacting with local medically related charities.  These aren't only beneficial for the charities we're supporting, but the endorphins released from exercise and eating cakes is very helpful in combatting the stresses of this tricky course at this tricky university.
